Background Since 1996, I've had the privilege of working confidentially and respectfully with hundreds of ethnically and culturally diverse Asian, Caucasian, and Pacific islander clients in my private practice office, located in scenic, upcountry Kamuela (Waimea) in West Hawaii on The Big Island. I 've enjoyed counseling several individuals, couples and adolescents from private schools such as Hawaii Preparatory Academy and The Parker School and with parents and public school counselors to assist with them with referral questions and clients from schools throughout north and west Hawaii. I have a specialization in Adolescent psychology in training and experience with adolescents. For twenty years I was a high school teacher and department chair in a 2500-4000 student populated suburban high school outside Chicago. As a doctoral graduate of the Adler School in Chicago, I hold a specialization in Adlerian therapy, a community-based, life-style and systems approach to family and adult counseling and therapy. Cognitive-Behavioral, Psychodynamic and Hypnosis are utilized as needed for issues of anxiety, depression, mood disorders, personality disorders, psychological assessment and evaluation. Corporations, hospitals, resorts, and real estate companies have utilized my services for issues of employee assessment, clinical referrals, team-based coaching and identification of personality preferences through the use of the MBTI for Human Resource Departments, and Power Point Presentations to Team members and Associates.
